Pastor Roth’s Bio
Rev. Timothy Roth was born November 11, 1988, in St. Louis County, MO. Nine days later, he was baptized into the faith. He publicly confessed his baptismal faith during the Rite of Confirmation on May 4, 2003. After high school, he attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL. He joined Sigma Theta Epsilon, National Christian Fraternity, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He graduated the winter of 2010 with B.A.s in Religious Studies and Philosophy.
Timothy met Marie at Bradley. They were both members of InterVarsity and attended the same local LCMS congregation. They wed in holy matrimony on January 7, 2012. Later that year, he began his studies at Concordia Seminary in St Louis, MO. His favorite classes were systematics (doctrine) and practical (worship and pastoral care). He graduated in the spring of 2016 with his Master of Divinity. While at seminary, God blessed Timothy and Marie with two sons.
Timothy’s first call was to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Humboldt, KS. He was ordained and installed at St. Peter’s on July 10, 2016. There, God blessed him and Marie with two daughters. While in Humboldt, Pastor started a story hour for children at the Humboldt Public Library and was a member of Humboldt Pride, a community group dedicated “to developing a sense of place, pride, and community life.” Pastor and Marie also served as foster parents for a time. Eventually, he received a call from Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa, KS. After accepting that call, his last day of service at St. Peter’s was April 18, 2021. He was installed as the pastor of Faith on May 2, 2021.
In Ottawa, Timothy has served on the Board of United Way of Franklin County and is an Ottawa Chamber of Commerce member. He enjoys doing martial arts and self-defense with all his children. He has also served the Kansas District of the LCMS in varying capacities.
